Justice Reversed

Reversed, Justice is the card of a balance that will not level. Outcomes feel lopsided, a process is slow or biased, or the facts are being bent to suit someone. The upright card asks for the truth and accepts what follows. The reversed one often shows the opposite: avoidance, excuses, or a verdict reached without hearing both sides.

Two distinctions help. Is the unfairness coming toward you, as when a manager, a landlord or a relative is not treating you evenly? Or is it coming from you, as when you keep score, hold a grudge or put off an apology? The card holds both, and the rest of the spread usually shows which.

Reversal can also mean delay. A dispute, an application or a decision that depends on paperwork may simply be stuck, which is frustrating but different from being decided against you.

In love, reversed Justice often describes a relationship where give and take has gone out of balance. One person carries most of the effort, the same argument repeats without being settled, or someone keeps a private tally of old wrongs.

It can also point to dishonesty, whether a half-truth or something left unsaid, that is now making trust harder. If you are single, the card may ask whether past relationships taught you a rule, such as never being the one to reach out, that is harsher than it needs to be.

A useful question is whether the imbalance is a pattern or a phase. A busy month produces an uneven split. Years of it is something to talk through.

At work, the card tends to show up around pay, credit, promotions, contracts and performance reviews. Reversed, it can mean an unfair review, credit taken by someone else, rules applied to some people and not to others, or a slow approval process.

It can also point at corners you cut yourself. A report with a convenient omission, or a deadline met by skipping a check, fits the card as well. For a formal or legal matter, a tarot card gives a mood, not information, so lean on the actual documents and qualified advice.

Reversed Justice leans toward no or not yet. It fits questions such as whether a ruling will go your way, whether a negotiation will be fair, or whether someone will own up, where the honest answer is often that the process is unbalanced or unfinished.

Upright Justice leans yes when the question is about fairness, truth or an agreement with clear terms. Because the card is about cause and effect, the wording of your question matters: ask what a fair next step looks like, not who will win.
